Speaker Bio
Jamie Michael Hemmings is a dynamic and innovative serial entrepreneur who has made a significant impact in both the technology and food industries. His journey began when his son was diagnosed with autism, and he struggled to find healthy meal options for him. In response, Jamie co-founded Greenie Tots, the first line of healthy frozen meals based on traditional kids' favorites using plant-based meats.
But that was just the beginning. Jamie went on to create two scheduling tech apps for the pharmaceutical and cannabis industries. His cannabis app Leaf Tyme was the first cannabis tech solution to be a finalist in the Release It competition at SXSW, one of the most prestigious tech conferences in the world.
Driven by his passion for making healthy food more accessible, Jamie combined his skills in tech and food to create Nourish + Bloom Market. This groundbreaking store is not only the first checkout-free grocery store in the southeastern United States, but it is also the first automated grocery store to be open 24 hours a day and the first black-owned automated grocery store in the world. Jamie's pioneering work in autonomous grocery technology is transforming the shopping experience by providing customers with a seamless and convenient way to shop for their favorite products.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Jamie is also a nationally syndicated writer for Medium and Thrive Global. His column, Inspirational Black Men In Tech, showcases the stories of black men who are making a difference in the technology industry.
Jamie's entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to making a positive impact, and unwavering commitment to creating healthier, more sustainable communities are truly remarkable. He is a visionary leader who is driving change and truly making a difference in the world.
