Sheri Morano MW found her interest in wine initially sparked during a trip to Italy when she was 17. She began her formal wine education at the International Wine Center in New York City in 1997 following graduation from Duke University, where she majored in Medieval & Renaissance Studies and Classical Studies with a minor in Art History. In November 2003, Sheri earned the esteemed title Master of Wine and became the youngest American woman to achieve the designation.
As the Managing Director for Wine, Spirits and Food for Preferabli, Sheri coordinates the Curation Team and manages the development of Preferabli’s extensive database. With nearly 20 years of experience in consumer retail research, particularly the wine industry, Sheri brings a wealth of knowledge to support Preferabli’s ability to connect with users of all levels across multiple products.

Preferabli is the leading B2B2C product discovery and recommendation software for wine, spirits and food, including specialty and grocery retail, hospitality, travel, distribution and consumer platforms. Preferabli licenses software to help the industry market and sell to individual taste preferences in the way a human expert would – at scale – across web, mobile and GenAI.

Preferabli software uses a novel form of machine learning that was built by PhDs in physiology and applied mathematics, and the largest group of Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers in the world. Sheri resides in North Carolina with her husband, son, and an assortment of pets. In her spare time, she enjoys running half and full marathons, gardening, traveling, cooking, and watching her son play soccer for High Point University.
